Honoured at KAROS 2026 – Strengthening Indo–Korean Collaboration in Robotic Surgery
It was a great honour to attend the KAROS 2026 Conference as President of the Association of Robotic and Innovative Surgeons and a special invitee of the Korean Association of Robotic Surgeons.
I had the privilege of participating alongside distinguished Indian colleagues including Dr. Swagata Khanna, Dr. Vivek Bindal, Dr. Somashekhar S.P., and Dr. Manjiri Somashekhar. During the conference, I delivered an invited lecture highlighting the expanding training, fellowship, and academic initiatives of ARIS, and the organisation’s growing role in advancing robotic surgery education in India.
The meeting provided an excellent platform for meaningful academic discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between India and South Korea in the field of robotic surgery. Encouraging deliberations were held regarding future observership programmes and travelling fellowship opportunities for deserving young surgeons at Korea’s renowned high-volume robotic centres.
The conference further reinforced the importance of international academic partnerships in promoting innovation, training, and the global exchange of surgical expertise.
I extend my sincere gratitude to Prof. Chang Moo Kang, Dr. Boram Lee, and Dr. Minsoo Park for their warm hospitality and for their continued efforts in strengthening the academic bridge between South Korea and India.
